Overview:
Tarotale is a unique app designed to help writers craft stories using the symbolism and structure of tarot cards, specifically the Major Arcana. Originally conceived as a project for WWDC24, it evolved into a personal tool that became integral to my creative process for story writing. Inspired by Italo Calvino’s Castello dei Destini Incrociati, the app uses the randomness of tarot card draws to guide the development of protagonists, antagonists, and narrative arcs, fostering unexpected and dynamic storytelling.
Objective:
The goal of Tarotale is to harness the power of tarot cards as a tool for creating compelling narratives, offering a fresh, creative approach for writers seeking inspiration. The app invites users to explore story possibilities by generating random combinations of characters (Protagonist, Antagonist, and Deuteragonist) and Acts, resulting in new, unexpected narrative outcomes that push the boundaries of traditional storytelling. Through its interactive and intuitive design, Tarotale aims to combine the mystique of tarot with the art of writing, turning each session into a journey of discovery and imagination.

Hand-Crafted Design: Every visual element of the app is meticulously designed by hand, from the tarot cards to the overall interface, creating an authentic, visually captivating experience.
